Batavierenrace
The biggest student relay in the world sinds 1974.
The Batavierenrace is the largest relay race in the world, with participants running from Nijmegen to Enschede every year. The 52nd Batavierenrace will be held May 24 and 25. The route runs from the center of Nijmegen, through Germany and the quiet Achterhoek region, to the campus of the University of Twente.
The total running distance is over 175 kilometers and is divided into 25 stages (16 men's and 9 women's stages). Every year over 350 teams with 8,500 athletes participate, all students. Also for spectators this is a fun event, come for example to encourage riders at the restart in the Van Heekpark, but also the finish on the campus of the University of Twente always attracts a lot of public!
