Music

Eight musical friends have been breaking down stages throughout the Netherlands since 2022 with their catchy mix of hip-hop, funky horns and polyphonic sing-alongs on a virtuoso and driving live band. On Friday, March 7, it will be Enschede's turn.

From Noorderslag to Zwarte Cross and from Valkhof Festival to MadNes: everywhere they go, energy and fun splashes off the stage. And the audience? No one escapes the dance; no one is immune to Primate. Within no time you are swept up in the vibe and you are swaying or jumping along to an explosion of positive energy.

After the 2023 Pop Round, things are going fast for Primate. So 2024 began with a phenomenal show at Eurosonic Noorderslag and shortly after, the band released their debut EP Roze Bril, which they made with Ferdy van der Singel. The EP was launched with a sold-out release party at Hedon Zwolle and shows at the Melkweg and Merleyn. It also soon followed their radio debut on stations such as 3FM, KINK and Radio 1. In addition, by 2024, Primate could be seen live more than 35 times at festivals and pop venues. They regularly appeared on mainstages that they shared with big names, including DI-RECT, Fresku, Joost Klein, Krezip and Nile Rodgers.

On February 21, Primate will release their debut album Hoe Vind Je Zelf Dat Het gaat. Among other things, the album discusses the theme of parenthood, with growing challenges as well as beautiful moments.

To celebrate the debut album, the band will perform a concert in Enschede on Friday, March 7. This show is part of Enschede700.
