The Abraham Ledeboerpark is situated in a beautiful landscape characterized by agricultural fields and forests: typical Twente countryside, just a stone's throw from the heart of Enschede.

Like a protective ring, the 46-hectare estate Het Wageler surrounds the Abraham Ledeboerpark in Enschede. This area is characterized by fields, meadows, wooded banks, bushes, farms, and streams. From 1880 to 1956, the villa of the Ledeboer family stood in the central part of the estate. The garden was designed in 1880 by Dirk Wattez.

The Abraham Ledeboerpark stands out with its coach house, majestic sequoia tree, beautiful rhododendrons, small wooded areas, ponds, and the impressive entrance gate featuring distinctive eagles and roses. The city park is named after textile industrialist Abraham Ledeboer.

In the park, you'll also find the typical Twente-style farmhouse Los Hoes 'Het Lammerinkswönner', which now serves as an educational center focused on nature and the environment.

One of the world's most beautiful parks! In 2020, the Ledeboerpark in Enschede was voted one of the most beautiful parks in the world!

Good to know:

  • Dogs must be kept on a leash.
  • The park is open from sunrise to sunset.
