Smalenbroeksweg 17
An estate of about 85 hectares in the south of Enschede. In this estate, open spaces are interspersed with woods and wooded banks.
The lands often feature fine plantings. Notable is the tall convex ash tree.
The variation in soil, elevation, moisture conditions and minerals available to plants and trees shows a diversity of forest types and plant communities. Traditionally, this area is known for the occurrence of mushrooms. Its varied and small-scale character results in a wide variety of birdlife. Some parts of the estate are designated as resting areas.
Near the farm and villa we find the park complete with pond and trees and shrubs that do not naturally belong in the Netherlands. This park was laid out around the turn of the century to a design by landscape architect Wattez Sr.
