Downtown Enschede has a new hotspot: Skatepark De Boulevard. This brand new skatepark has been in operation since last summer 2024 and is quickly proving to be a great success. For skaters of all ages and levels, it's the place to practice their skills, and te best part? It's free to enter.
The skatepark came about thanks to the involvement of the Enschede community. Through stemvanenschede.nl, residents, organizations and businesses could submit their ideas in 2022. From the 33 proposals submitted, the skatepark was chosen as the second favorite. The municipality worked with skateboard associations De Fabriek and Mudcrew to realize a design that met he skater's wishes.
Skatepark De Boulevard is located on the old SLO site on De Boulevard and is part of a temporary infill of construction project The Head. But not to worry, many of the obstacles can be reused in a new location in the future. This park offers plenty of challenge for beginners and experienced skaters alike. For the colder and wetter months, The Factory offers a nice alternative with its indoor skatepark in the Performace Factory.
